Position:  Bartender
Status:  On Call, At-Will Employment
Reports to:  Event Manager


Job overview: 

All Bartenders must be 21 years or older.  Responsible for the set-up, service and breakdown of liquor, beer and/or wine bar service at events.  Ensure age requirements for alcohol consumption are met.  Provide excellent customer service to our client and guests.


Responsibilities and Duties
(included but not limited to the following):

  • Check in with Event Manager (EM) to receive and review Banquet Event Order (BEO), schematic and bar consumption sheet.
  • Off-site, help unload and organize bar inventory from Ramekins truck.  On-site, retrieve bar inventory from designated storage areas.
  • Set-up bar per BEO and schematic and complete before guest arrival, following Ramekins policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance barback and wine servers and training to new staff.
  • Execute bar service per BEO timeline.  Know what type of wine you are serving and the sequence of wine service.
  • Plan, organize and control the operations of the bar keeping it neat and orderly.
  • Anticipate shortages and replenish as needed to assure availability of product for duration of events.
  • Close bar as indicted on BEO timeline.
  • Place perishables back in cooler or refrigerator and place dry bottles back in the original boxes.
  • Off-site, assist with reloading truck and recycling. On-site, restock inventory and take the recycling out to recycling bins.
  • Clean bar area thoroughly, following Ramekins policies and procedures.
  • Properly and clearly fill out bar consumption sheet before submitting to EM at end of shift.
  • Assist waitstaff with cleanup, break-down and room reset as instructed by EM.


Schedule/Hours:

This is an on-call position, with day and evening shifts available seven days a week.

Expectations:

  • A primary responsibility of your job is to make our guests and clients feel special.
  • Accept or reject job requests from Staffmate in a timely manner.
  • Arrive on time in appropriate work attire and prepared with necessary materials for scheduled shift. (See Policy and Procedures)
  • Behave like you are on stage and your “performance” is being watched by an audience.

Qualifications:

  • Education level:  High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience:  Previous bar experience required, or cumulative proven experience with Ramekins as a barback and/or wine server.
  • Specific Skills:  Problem-Solving Skills, Communication, Collaboration and Time Management
  • Personal Character:  Respectful, Reliable, Organized, Personable, Enthusiastic and able to Multitask
  • Certification:  Current Beverage/Food Handler’s Permit (ServeSafe Certificate)
  • Physical abilities:  Physically energetic and able to stay on your feet for extended periods. Walk on uneven surfaces.  Work in outdoor spaces with exposure to extreme weather conditions.  Able to lift 50 pounds (a case of wine).
